Biased Policies, Agriculture and Income Distribution in South

چکیده

In this study a Social Accounting Matrix approach is used to analyse the effects of changes in agricultural policies on income distribution. Increasing final demand for agricultural products, and a reduction in agricultural price supports, will produce greater proportional benefits for the poorer households, although these benefits are small. A 6% reduction in agricultural price supports results in a 7% decline in agricultural prices, but the intersectoral effects are concentrated hence the decline in price supports has a relatively limited impact on the structure of relative commodity prices beyond the food system. The benefits of minimum wages in agriculture declines with household incomes, with the higher wages having a limited effect on prices. These policies simulations indicate the extent to which agricultural policy reforms can have a positive effect on the production of other sectors and income distribution in South Africa. Chinese solar greenhouse (CSG) is universally applied in northern China for producing horticultural products. CSG is characterized by the unbalanced structures with an arched front roof face to the south side and a thick wall as well as back roof in the north side. Such structures affect light distribution in the greenhouse. This study aims to investigate the light distribution properties in CS...

Income Convergence toward USA: New Evidences for Latin and South American Countries

Abstract In this paper we test two versions of convergence hypothesis namely deterministic or conditional convergence and stochastic or catching up hypothesis using Carrion-i-Silvestre et al. (2005) stationary test. The results show Latin and South American countries (LSA) catching up process toward the USA failed in 1980s and somewhat in 1990s. But in 2000s most of them could lie in converge...
